Is it really funny :D

Hello everyone,

Today I am here to tell you some funny answers which we simply guess when we don't know the      answer . But many times our guesses are wrong and may just make fun of yours. After seeing the   name, we just guess the properties, which is not correct.

Naming of microorganisms is a very challenging . Some of the name of microorganisms are        derived  in honour of those persons who have first discovered this organism, in some cases the        name of organism is derived from the place of discovery, and in other cases the name reflects some    of the salient feature of organisms such as Staphylococci (Grape like cluster: Morphology,      Mycobacteria: Containing Mycolic acid).

Here are the some names below :
.
     1.  Chicken Pox: The question asked was write properties of Chicken Pox. Answer which is most  expected is: It is a pox virus and it infects chicken. (What is your guess?)

But: Chicken pox does not infect chicken, nor is it caused by a pox virus. It is caused by a herpes   virus varicella-zoster virus characterized by a very itchy red rash, is one of the most common   infectious diseases of childhood. It is usually mild in children.

    2. Legionella pneumophila:  The common answer can be , that organisms is causitive agent of      pneumonia simmilar to disease caused by  Streptococcus pneumoniae

But : Legionella pneumophila is a thin, aerobic, pleomorphic, flagellated, non-spore                          forming, Gram-negative bacterium and causes  legionellosis or Legionnaires' , disease which is         atypical type of pneumonia. The symptoms are different from the typical type of pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae.

     3.  Histoplasma Capsulatum: This type of question can be seen in Objective or VIVA exam.
The answer given is: It’s a protozoa and it is capsulated.

But:   It's first name suggests, it is not a protozoon. It’s a fungus. And second name suggest, it is not       capsulated organism, it does not bear any capsule but is a filamentous fungus.  Infection          by Histoplasma capsulatum usually presents as a pulmonary infection that may be transient or     chronic.

    4.  Bdellovibrio:  The answer comes confidently that it  is a sub type of vibrio spp

But: Bdellovibrio is a genus of Gram-negative, obligate aerobic bacteria. This organism  parasitizes   other gram negative bacteria.

   With love,
     Dixy
